Perth companies Aura Energy and South Boulder Mines have announced the appointment of new chairmen, as they strive to make progress on their mining projects.
South Boulder has appointed Seamus Cornelius as non-executive chairman, replacing Terry Grammer who has been in the role since 2007.
Mr Cornelius is a former corporate lawyer in Australia who has been based in China for the past 20 years.
South Boulder chief executive Paul Donaldson said the new chairman's experience would be valuable as the company progressed its Colluli potash project in Eritrea, in Africa.
Separately, Aura Energy has announced Peter Reeve as its new chairman, just days after a setback on development of its Haggan uranium project in Sweden.
Mr Reeve previously was chief executive of Ivanhoe Australia and before that spent time with BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto and Newcrest Mining.
He succeeds Brett Fraser, who has been chairman since Aura's listing in 2006. Mr Fraser will remain as a non-executive director.
Aura announced last Friday that Areva Mines had elected to not proceed with a proposed strategic partnership on the Haggan project, which Aura described as the second largest undeveloped uranium deposit in the world.
