Market sizeThe market for ‘stuff’ is immense – something eBay and Gumtree have exploited well. The notion of sharing things among users is known as ‘collaborative consumption’, or the ‘sharing economy’. Forbes recently estimated this market is already worth $US3.5 billion and growing at 25 per cent a year. Rentoid and Snapgoods in the US offer a similar service.
