Radio station 6PR has made a comeback in the latest radio ratings survey to tie with sister station 96fm in third spot.
According to latest numbers by Nielsen for the survey period between February 15 to March 21 and March 29 to May 2, 6PR scored an overall audience share of 11.1 per cent, up 1.8 per cent on the last survey results.
96FM's ratings fell 0.8 per cent to 11.1 per cent.
Both stations were beaten by Austereo's twin offerings of Mix 94.5, down 0.6 per cent to 15 per cent, and 92.9 which rose 1.2 per cent to 14.4 per cent.
Triple J was the biggest loser in the overall ratings, losing 3 per cent of its audience share.
In the heavily contested breakfast show slot, Mix 94.5's Botica's Bunch retained its number one position, lifting its ratings by 0.5 per cent to 15.4 per cent.
ABC720's Eoin Cameron came second at 14.3 per cent while 92.9's Em and Sam Mac show rounded out the top three with 12.2 per cent.
929.9 continued its strong breakfast radio performance throughout the day with its audience share rising by 9,000 listeners or 3.3 per cent to 11.9 per cent in the 9am to midday timeslot, and 2.4 per cent to 13.7 per cent in the midday to 4pm timeslot.
However the comedic offering of Hamish and Andy followed by Kyle and Jackie O in the drive timeslot, 4pm to 7pm, failed to keep listeners tuned in, with the station losing 1.1 per cent to pull an audience share of 22.4 per cent.
Meanwhile, 6PR's Simon Beaumont also made substantial gains in the 9am to midday timeslot with his audience share increasing by 4,000 listeners or 2 per cent to 11.9 per cent.
The station continued its strong performance throughout the rest of the day with its audience share rising by 1.9 per cent to 11 per cent in the midday to 4pm slot, up 1.6 per cent to 8.4 per cent in the drive timeslot and surging 4.3 per cent from 7pm to midnight.
