Ian Carter

Throughout his career, Ian Carter AM has a passion for community capacity building and social justice. He has been involved in creating and governing a wide range of community organisations at local, national and international levels. Mr Carter was deputy president of ACOSS, president of WACOSS, president of Family Services Australia, and was also chair of both the State Taskforce on Poverty and the Social Housing Taskforce. He was a member of the Prime Minister’s Council on Homelessness for over four years. Mr Carter was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in the General Division (AM) in 2009.
